Two men have been sentenced to prison following their involvement in a large-scale drug operation across the UK.

Umeir Iqbal and Haaris Sheikh were sentenced at Reading Crown Court on 5th February after an investigation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).

Iqbal, aged 33, from Slough, played a leading role in importing cocaine into the UK and distributing heroin and cannabis in wholesale quantities.

He also ran a local drugs line supplying cocaine and cannabis within Slough and West London.

Iqbal continued controlling the criminal operations from prison using illicit mobile devices after his arrest in July 2024.

He received a 20-year sentence for importation of cocaine, conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs, and possession of a mobile phone in prison.

Sheikh, aged 27, from Uxbridge, was sentenced to 22 months for conspiracy to supply cannabis.

Detective Sergeant Faraz Vakani praised the efforts of the investigative team: “These two men, as well as all those convicted prior to today’s hearing, were a well-organised group who played a significant role in the supply of harmful drugs.

"Thanks to the dedication of our team, we were able to disrupt their activity and bring those responsible to justice.

"We remain committed to identifying and disrupting organised criminal networks, and hope these sentences send a clear message that those involved in drug supply will be investigated and prosecuted.”

Earlier last year, six other individuals connected to the group received sentences.

Following guilty pleas in hearings from November 2024 to March 2025, they were convicted of conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis.

Feisal Osmanie, 31, was sentenced to nine years, Charlotte Lightfoot, 36, and Marta Karczewska, 37, received suspended two-year sentences.

After a three-week trial, Hamza Mann, 28, Umar Sheryar, 38, and Noor Khurana, 34, were found guilty. Mann was sentenced to nine years, Sheryar to 11 years, and Khurana to five years and six months.

Each of the defendants was charged between July 2024 and January 2025.
