Passengers travelling between Reading and London Paddington are facing cancellations and delays due to trespassers on the railway lines.
Trespassing involves individuals being present on or next to railway tracks, adjacent land, or areas near the railway not open to the public.
Reports of trespassers in the London Paddington area have resulted in disruptions to services until the situation is resolved.
While some lines have reopened, significant delays and many cancellations persist.
Efforts are currently underway with Network Rail and the British Transport Police to restore the normal timetable as swiftly as possible.
Passengers have several options available to minimise inconvenience.
Tickets can be utilised at no additional cost on South Western Railway between Reading and London Waterloo, London Underground between London Paddington and London Waterloo, the Central Line, the Elizabeth Line between London Paddington and Reading, and Chiltern Railway between Marylebone and Oxford.
In case of a cancelled train, passengers can travel on either of the two preceding or succeeding services using their original ticket at no extra cost, regardless of whether these are peak services.
Alternatively, postponing the journey until the service returns to normal may be considered.
