Thames Valley Police equip motorbikes with speed cameras
Equipped with cameras the motorbikes will reach parts of the community that speed detection vans can't

Thames Valley Police is launching a new Safety Camera Motorcyclist team as part of its ongoing commitment to improving road safety and reducing the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads.
Police say it forms part of a more agile and responsive approach to enforcement, ensuring they can better target areas where speeding and dangerous driving are a concern, particularly in locations where traditional safety camera vans may not be suitable, such as near to schools.
The motorcycles will be equipped with handheld laser and video speed detection technology, enabling accurate and effective enforcement.
Local policing teams will also be able to raise concerns about speeding and road safety issues in their communities. Where a genuine concern is identified, deployments can be made to provide targeted enforcement and reassurance to residents that their concerns are being addressed.
