PC George Johnston charged following investigation into off-duty incident
A serving Thames Valley Police officer has been charged with sexual assault following an investigation by the force.
PC George Johnston, 27, who is stationed at Reading police station, received the charge by postal requisition on 11th December last year.
He faces one count of assaulting a female aged 13 and over by penetration.
The charge is connected to a reported sexual assault involving a woman at an address in Woodley, Reading, which occurred while Johnston was off-duty on 3rd November 2024.
This incident was reported to police on the same day, leading to Johnston’s suspension from duty the following day.
The officer is on conditional court bail and is scheduled to appear before Guildford Crown Court on Monday, 9th February.
