Basingstoke robbery leads to arrest of four teenagers
Boys approached by masked group in Festival Place
Four teenagers have been arrested in Basingstoke following a report of robbery last night.
The incident occurred at Festival Place at 7:37 pm on Thursday 19th February.
Two 15-year-old boys were approached by a group of masked teenagers.
During the confrontation, one of the boys believed someone in the group attempted to reach for a knife.
A Nike ski mask was taken from his bag in the process, though he was not injured.
Police attended the scene and found four teenagers in The Malls area.
They recovered the stolen ski mask, a knife, and three catapults which have now been seized.
Details of the Arrests
A 19-year-old man from Newbury was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
A 17-year-old boy from Thatcham faced arrest for robbery, possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public space.
A 17-year-old boy from Baughurst was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
A 15-year-old boy from Aldermaston was arrested for robbery and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public space.
All four individuals are currently in custody as investigations continue.
