Teenager sexually assaulted in central Reading

Police issue description of suspect

Police are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault in Reading.

The incident occurred at around 12am on Thursday (31/8) at the bus stop on St Mary’s Butts, near to the Market Stalls and opposite the Boundary public house.

A man touched the victim, a woman in her late teens, inappropriately over her clothing.

The offender is described as a white man, aged in his twenties or thirties, around 5ft 7ins tall, has brown hair, a beard and a moustache.

He was wearing baggy trousers, a yellow top and was carrying a backpack.

Police investigator, Charis Griffiths based at Reading police station, said:

“I am appealing for anybody who witnessed this to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
