Elderly woman seriously injured during four car crash near Andover

A serious crash involving four cars on the A303 near Andover has left an 82-year-old woman with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Emergency services were called shortly after 12.30pm on Sunday (12 April) to the scene between the junctions of Thruxton Circuit and Salisbury Road.

A Vauxhall Mokka, a Ford Puma, a Ford Kuga, and a Volvo collided on the westbound carriageway.

The driver of the Vauxhall, an 82-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries and continues to receive treatment in hospital.

Her passenger, a 78-year-old man, is recovering from chest injuries that are not considered life-threatening or life-changing.

A 9-year-old girl, a passenger in the Volvo, suffered minor injuries.

Hampshire Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Authorities are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, moments leading up to it, or the immediate aftermath.

Those with relevant dash cam footage are also urged to come forward.
