Fire in block of flats in Reading
Officials have advised the public to avoid the area while the emergency response continues
A fire has erupted in a block of flats on Patriot Place in Reading, prompting a response from multiple fire crews.
Crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham, Slough, Whitley Wood, and Windsor fire stations have arrived at the scene as part of the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service operations.
An Officer and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station are also present to aid in extinguishing the fire.
Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus are utilizing two hose reels, a hose reel jet, and the Aerial Ladder Platform in their efforts to combat the blaze.

The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service statement reads:
"Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham, Slough, Whitley Wood and Windsor fire stations have been sent to the scene alongside an Officer and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station.
"On arrival, crews discovered a fire in a block of flats. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus are using two hose reels, a hose reel jet and the Aerial Ladder Platform to extinguish the fire."
Local residents are urged to keep their windows and doors closed for safety.
Crews remain engaged at the scene.
