Reading Football Club ended their January transfer activity by signing Kadan Young on loan from Aston Villa until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old winger has scored three goals in four PL2 matches so far this season and picked up an assist in Villa’s 3-2 victory over Red Bull Salzburg in the UEFA Europa League last week.

Young has first team experience on loan in Belgium with Royal Antwerp and has three first-team appearances for his parent club.

Exciting

Manager Leam Richardson commented: “Kadan is an exciting young wide player who gives us added depth and real pace in the wide areas. He’s someone with excellent character, a strong work ethic, and plenty of potential, and we’re looking forward to working with him during his time with us.”

Subject to ratification by the football authorities, Kadan is eligible to make his Royals debut on Saturday at AFC Wimbledon.

His signing completes a window which has seen Hayden Roberts and Benn Ward join on permanent contracts with Will Keane and Ryan Nyambe signing on-loan deals.

It's a window that has been widely applauded by fans and has demonstrated that the owners are serious about investing in the club's future.
