A man has been jailed following a Thames Valley Police investigation into drug offences in Reading.

Jamie Allen, 23, of Hampshire Terrace, Portsmouth, was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison at Reading Crown Court on 22nd January.

Allen admitted guilt on several charges during a previous hearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court on 15th November 2025.

The charges included possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (Cocaine), possession of Class B drugs (Cannabis), driving without insurance, and careless driving.

The offences occurred on 14th November 2025 when local neighbourhood officers detained Allen on a Sur’ron electric off-road bike on Coronation Square.

Police found Allen in possession of 60 wraps of Class A drugs, Class B drugs, and over £735 in cash.

He was arrested and charged the following day.

Allen received a £350 fine, six penalty points on his licence, and a fixed penalty notice.

Investigating officer PC Joe Merritt highlighted the local efforts to combat drug-related crime and anti-social behaviour using electric off-road bikes.

"We are committed to tackling the illegal use of Sur’ron style electric off-road bikes, being used to enable drug related crime and anti-social behaviour across West Reading," PC Merritt said.

"We will continue to pursue those intent on causing our community harm."
