Two teenagers arrested over college student attack

Two boys have been arrested after armed police were called to a college in Reading where a student was injured in an attack.

The victim, who is in his late teens, suffered injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening in an assault at Reading College on Thursday afternoon.

Thames Valley Police said the boys under arrest are aged 16 and 17, both from Reading, and "we are not looking to make any further arrests at this time".

The 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article on school/further education premises.

The 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent.

Both are in custody while the victim has been discharged from hospital, the force said.

A police spokesman said: "We understand that this may have caused concern but we are investigating this as a priority and are working closely with our partners.

"Officers remain in the area and are conducting increased patrols today.

"If you have any worries or concerns, please speak with a uniformed officer."
