Police make further arrests following attempted murder investigation in Maidenhead
A man was stabbed at a property on Desborough Crescent on Monday.
Thames Valley Police have announced that they have made two further arrests in connection with an attempted murder investigation in Maidenhead.
Officers were called to Desborough Crescent at approximately 4.45pm on Monday, after a man in his twenties was stabbed in the garden of a property. He remains in hospital and is in a stable condition.
As part of their investigation, they have now arrested an 18-year-old man from Birmingham on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody at this time.
Officers have also arrested a second man, aged 20 and from Birmingham, on suspicion of assisting an offender. He has been released on police bail.
Following these two arrests, a woman in her late teens from Maidenhead, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Additionally, a man in his forties from Maidenhead, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both have been released on police bail.
Lead investigating officer Detective Inspector Liam Butler said: “Our investigation into this incident remains ongoing and we have now made two further arrests as part of our enquiries."
“We believe this was a targeted attack and there is no indication of any wider risk to the public."
“We understand that incidents of this nature can cause concern within the community and I would like to reassure residents that we are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances."
“Officers will remain in the area while these enquiries continue and to provide reassurance to local people."
