Police launch witness appeal following A34 fatal collision
A man lost his life in the collision at Sutton Scotney and police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision occurred on the southbound lane of the A34 near Sutton Scotney.
The incident happened at around 8.20pm on Saturday the 5th of September, involving a green Austin A35 and a black Mazda 6 Sport.
The driver of the Austin, a 63-year-old man from Romsey, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of the emergency services. The man's next of kin have been made aware.
The driver of the Mazda, a 21-year-old man from Tidworth, Wilts, was arrested by police at the scene on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care / consideration whilst unfit through drugs. He has been bailed until the 6th of December while the police investigation continues.
Because the Austin is a rare and memorable vehicle, police have issued an image of it to remind people who may have seen it being driven on the day to then contact them.
