Hampshire police discover male body in search for missing man

The family of missing 51 year old David Smedley have been informed

Police officers in Hampshire investigating the disappearance of a missing man have found a deceased male body.

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of missing 51 year old David Smedley have been told of the discovery, and police are preparing to inform the coroner.

David was last seen on Friday (July 11) at about 6:40 pm, in the Farnborough Road area of Farnborough

A spokesperson for the force said:

"Officers searching for missing man David Smedley from Farnborough sadly found a body of a man this afternoon (Tuesday 15 July).

"While formal identification has not yet taken place, David’s family have been informed.

"A file will be prepared for the coroner.

"We want to thank everyone who shared our appeal and contacted us with information to help us find David."
