Thames Valley Police are stepping up patrols this summer to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime in town and city centres as part of the national Safer Streets Summer campaign.

Running from July to September, the initiative will see more officers on the streets across Berkshire as well as Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Assistant Chief Constable Christian Bunt said: “It’s about more than just fighting crime – it’s about addressing local concerns and being visible where it matters most.”

Police will focus on issues like shoplifting, illegal e-scooters, and street crime. Existing Public Spaces Protection Orders may also be more strictly enforced.

Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Barber said the campaign aims to make public spaces safer and support local communities.
