Paul Young is to appear at a charity concert in Basingstoke.
The Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Cllr Colin Phillimore will host the show on Saturday 7 March 2026 at 7pm bringing a celebration of live music from Los Pacaminos featuring Paul Young, Jamie and the Falcons, and Fortunate Ones – a band well known on the music scene in Basingstoke and the surrounding areas.
Headlining the show at The Anvil will be Los Pacaminos a Tex-Mex band that was formed by pop star Paul Young in 1992 during a break in his music career. The band’s music is inspired by Tex-Mex influences including the Texas Tornados, The Sir Douglas Quintet, Flaco Jimenez, as well as Ry Cooder, Calexico, Roy Orbison, The Band and Chuck Berry.
Also on stage will be Jamie and the Falcons, four world-class musicians known as the 'party band to the stars', who between them have accompanied some of the greatest names in popular music.
Local favourites Fortunate Ones complete the line-up, bringing their high-energy performances of rock hits, including modern rock covers, spanning a number of decades.
Memories
Cllr Phillimore said: “Live music creates memories and has always played an important part in my life, so it gives me great pleasure to bring these talented bands together for one night only.
“This will not only be a special evening of entertainment but will also support my charity appeal which is raising funds for two local charities that are close to my heart - St Michael’s Hospice and the Whitchurch Community Swimming Pool.
“Tickets are selling fast, so please get yours today so that you don’t miss this unique evening of the very best music.”
