Thames Valley Police are preparing a significant policing operation for the Oxford United versus Reading FC match at the Kassam Stadium on 4th November 2026, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

The operation aims to ensure the safety of supporters, local residents, and businesses by employing various policing tactics before, during, and after the fixture.

Section 35 dispersal orders and Section 60AA powers will be deployed to prevent antisocial behaviour, disorder, and criminal activity. These orders allow officers to direct individuals causing harassment, and require the removal of identity-concealing items.

The authorisations cover areas around Reading, Didcot, and Oxford from 11am on 4th November to 1am on 5th November, including detailed boundaries around Kassam Stadium and transport hubs.

Specialist resources such as mounted officers, police dogs, tactical cyclists, and drones will be used, alongside operational football spotters to identify potential troublemakers.

Thames Valley Police are collaborating with Oxford United, Reading FC, British Transport Police, and local agencies to minimise disruption and maintain security.

Superintendent Jennifer Hogben stated, “Our comprehensive policing operation is designed to ensure everyone attending the match can do so safely.”

Parents are urged to know their children's whereabouts on the evening, and supporters are encouraged to arrive early, follow directions, and report any concerns to police officers or stadium staff.
