Nurse working with Thames Valley Police charged over custody death

Sean Cregg has been charged with gross negligence manslaughter

A former nurse, who worked with Thames Valley Police, has been charged following the death of a man in custody in Reading.

3\8 year old William Cameron was arrested on the 8th of January 2020 and died later that day in hospital after he was taken into custody at Loddon Valley police station.

Following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct 35 year old Sean Cregg has been charged with gross negligence manslaughter and a further charge under section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 1 July.

A police sergeant, who was also referred to the Crown Prosecution Service, will not face charges.
