Vehicles damaged and chainsaws stolen in Newbury
Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following crimes at bus depot and nearby areas
Thames Valley Police are seeking witnesses after a series of criminal damage incidents and thefts in Newbury.
At around 2am on 17th April, two men broke into buses at the Newbury & District Bus Depot on Mill Lane and stole a red and black emergency escape hammer.
The offenders continued their spree on foot, targeting vehicles and a shop front on Boundary Road, Hambridge Road, Racecourse Bridge, and Newbury Racecourse Car Park, smashing windows.
Three chainsaws were also stolen from a van parked on Northway, including a Stihl 661, a Husqvarna 560xp, and a Stihl 194.
The two suspects are described as being 18-22 years old, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, of average build, and wearing dark-coloured hoodies.
One suspect was wearing dark jogging bottoms with a white stripe and black trainers with white detailing.
The other suspect wore dark jogging bottoms and white trainers.
PC Talia Lee-Robinson, based at Newbury police station, said: "I am appealing for any witnesses to this spree of criminal damage and thefts in Newbury in the early hours of Thursday morning to please come forward.
"We will not tolerate this behaviour in Newbury or anywhere else in our patch as numerous victims have been left to pick up the pieces left behind.
"We are doing everything we can to serve those victims by finding those responsible and bringing them to justice but we need the public’s support so please send any information, images or footage to us."
