New pop up libraries launching across West Berkshire
The aim is to bring library services closer to rural communities
West Berkshire Council is set to launch three new pop-up libraries to serve residents in rural communities.
These new services in Aldworth, Shaw-cum-Donnington, and Speen will start operating in April and join existing offerings in Basildon, Compton, and Leckhampstead.
Existing pop-up libraries have received positive feedback from residents and between April 2025 and February 2026, over 1,500 books were loaned and 476 visitors attended.
Councillor Nigel Foot, Executive Member for Culture, Leisure, Sport, and Countryside, expressed enthusiasm for the expansion.
"We are delighted to be expanding our successful pop-up library service into more communities," Foot said.
