Four new Family Hubs to open in Reading
The hubs will operate Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm
Reading is set to become home to four new Family Hubs, to try and enhance support for families, children, and young people in the area.
The hubs will cater to children and families from birth up to 18 years old, or 25 for young adults with care experience or special educational needs.
They will be situated at existing sites in Whitley, Ranikhet, Sun Street, and Southcote, bringing together various services including family safeguarding, early years support, and assistance for neurodivergent families.
The hubs will operate Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, providing a physical and digital platform for accessing services. The official opening of the hubs will take place on Thursday 19th March,.
Cllr Wendy Griffith, Lead Councillor for Children, emphasised the significance of these hubs for the community.
"In Reading, we want every family to know there is somewhere they can turn to for support - from pregnancy, through the teenage years and into early adulthood," Griffith said.
"We’re really looking forward to opening the doors on 19 March and continuing to put families, children and young people at the centre of everything we do in Reading."
