Murder arrest after 'unexpected' death of woman in Basingstoke
The arrested man remains in police custody and has been taken to hospital to be treated for a pre-existing medical condition
A man has been arrested after the death of a woman in Basingstoke.
Officers were called at 8.01pm on Tuesday (24 June) by ambulance colleagues following the death of a 32-year-old woman at an address in Queen Mary Avenue.
The woman’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers.
Police say the death is being treated as unexpected and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the woman’s death.
As part of initial enquiries, a 49-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He remains in police custody and has been taken to hospital to be treated for a pre-existing medical condition.
Officers remain at the scene today as they continue to carry out enquiries.
