Teenage motorcyclist from Andover killed in A30 crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving

A teenager from Andover has died during a crash on the A30.

Emergency services were called out shortly before 8:30pm on Monday (9 June) to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and a van on the junction of Windmill Hill Lane and the A30 near Leckford.

The motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man, died at the scene.

The driver of the van, a 45-year-old man from Alresford, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention whilst unfit through drink, causing death by driving without due care and attention whilst unfit through drugs, driving while unfit through drink, and driving while unfit through drugs.

Hampshire Police are appealing for witnesses.
