A husband has been given a hospital order after admitting he killed his wife in Slough earlier this year.

Samir Rasuli, who's 58, and from Rochfords Gardens, pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility at Reading Crown Court.

Emergency services were called to a property in Rochfords Gardens on Friday 14 February, where they located 53-year-old Brigitta Rasuli in a serious condition.

She was taken to hospital, but sadly died on Saturday 1 March.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Laura Corscadden, from Thames Valley Police's Major Crime Unit, said:

“This has been an extremely tragic case in which Samir Rasuli has been found culpable for the death of his wife on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

“Throughout our investigation, our thoughts have remained with those closely affected by the devastating loss of Brigitta and far-reaching consequences this tragedy has had for all involved.

“We conducted a thorough investigation to ensure the facts were fully examined and Samir Rasuli has accepted responsibility for his wife’s death.

“We know the emotional impact of this tragedy has been profound for the immediate family and for those who hold close relationships with both individuals. The grief and complexity of this loss are deeply felt and no outcome can truly bring comfort or resolution.

“On behalf of Thames Valley Police, we extend our sincere condolences to all members of the family as this investigation reaches its conclusion.”
