After a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been jailed for grievous bodily harm drugs offences in Reading.

Nathan Cisse, aged 18, of Glebe Road, Hayes, Hillingdon, pleaded guilty at Reading Crown Court on 1 September to two counts of possession of a bladed article, two counts of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, namely heroin and crack cocaine, and one count of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was sentenced to six years and two months in prison yesterday (28/10) at the same court.

At around 1.50pm on 27 July this year, Cisse stabbed the victim, a teenage boy, twice in the leg on Bridge Street, Reading.

The victim’s injuries were not life threatening.

The day after the incident, officers from the Reading Town Centre Neighbourhood Police Team conducted a stop and search on Cisse due to suspicious behaviour.

Cisse was found to have a large quantity of heroin, crack cocaine and a knife in his waistband.

Cisse was arrested on the same day (28/7), and was charged the following day.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Michael Hanson, said: “This investigation and conviction demonstrate the proactive partnership between the Town Centre Neighbourhood Team and the Priority Crime Team in tackling drug dealing and violence in our community.

“We will not tolerate the actions of those who think they can threaten lives with knives and deal drugs in our neighbourhoods.

“We will continue to pursue, arrest, and convict offenders, to ensure they face the full force of the law. I hope that this sentencing acts as a deterrent to others involved in drug dealing.”
