Man charged after drugs found in van near Basingstoke

A man has been charged after officers located suspected Class A drugs inside a van at Fleet Services.

At around 9pm on Wednesday 7 May, officers stopped a van at Fleet Services, after it had been seen on the A303 and M3 near Basingstoke.

A number of enquiries were carried out and due to the circumstances, a search was made of the van.

Around 15 packages of suspected Class A drugs were found inside. The packages and the van were seized, and an arrest was made.

Manmeet Singh, 25, of Sutton Court Road, Uxbridge, has now been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A – cocaine, using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance, and driving a motor vehicle otherwise in accordance with a licence.
