A 42-year-old man has been arrested for multiple driving offences following a road traffic collision on the M4 last night (22/12).

At around 9pm, Police say they received several calls reporting a Range Rover Evoque being driven dangerously, before it was involved in a collision with another vehicle between Membury Services and Junction 15, which flipped onto its roof.

Police say the driver of the Range Rover left the scene, and our call centre then received further reports of a man walking along the hard shoulder towards Junction 15.

The Roads Policing Unit, Armed Response, and the dog team—including Police Dog Conan—tracked the driver and he was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, drug driving, driving while disqualified, failing to stop after a road accident, and being a pedestrian on a carriageway.

He was taken to hospital as a precaution and has since been released on police bail.
