A man in Maidenhead has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for possessing cocaine with the intent to supply.

Robert Appleton, 49, from Wessex Way, received his sentence at Reading Crown Court on 30th January.

Appleton pleaded guilty to the charges during the same court hearing.

The investigation, led by Thames Valley Police, began on 17th March last year when officers executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at Appleton's residence.

During the search, police recovered cocaine valued at £44,000, along with other items such as an air rifle, two samurai-style swords, three phones, cannabis, and a cannabis grinder.

Appleton was arrested and charged on the same day.

Investigating officer PC Benjamin Coulson from the Berkshire East Proactive Team said:

“Appleton was supplying Class A drugs, showing complete disregard for the law and the harm these substances cause in our communities."

“We will continue to proactively target those responsible, via both visible patrols and covert tactics, aimed at disrupting and pursuing offenders.”
