Police have authorised a Section 34 dispersal order covering parts of Maidenhead town centre and Furze Platt.

Thames Valley Police's Windsor and Maidenhead team said the order follows recent anti-social behaviour and disorder.

It will be in force from 3pm on Friday 30th October until 1am on Saturday 31st October.

Under the order, police can direct any individual or group involved in, or believed likely to become involved in, anti-social behaviour, disorder or criminality to leave the area.

Anyone who is directed to leave and refuses, or who returns to the area while the order is in force, is liable to arrest.

Police said there will be an increased police presence across the area.

They said officers will use all available powers to prevent disorder, protect local businesses and people living in the area, and take action against those responsible for anti-social behaviour.

Police said: 'We want everyone to enjoy Halloween safely, but those who choose to engage in anti-social behaviour, intimidation, theft, criminal damage or disorder should expect a robust response from officers.'
