Two men sentenced for Maidenhead and Essex robberies
“This was a shocking case where the victim was targeted for his high value watch"
Two men have been sentenced following robberies in Maidenhead and Essex.
Abdel Malek Benhucine, aged 28, of Turnpike Lane, London, pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery last Thursday (16 October) at Harrow Crown Court.
He was sentenced to two years and three months in prison.
At around 5.10pm on 9 July 2024, the victim, a man in his fifties, was travelling on a train from Farringdon Station to Maidenhead Station, where he was followed by two men.
The victim was then followed to Stafferton Way Car Park, where he was approached by the men, who forcibly grabbed a Panerai watch worth £10,000 off his wrist, causing the strap to break, before stealing it.
The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
Benhucine was arrested on 14 August 2024 and was charged on 23 May 2025.
He was later arrested and charged by Essex Police for a similar robbery in Essex.
Wassim Bensoltane, aged 24, of no fixed abode, was also later arrested and charged with both robberies.
Bensoltane also pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery last Thursday (16 January) at Harrow Crown Court and was sentenced to two years and three months in prison.
Investigating officer, Maidenhead Priority Crime Team Investigator Graham Bavin said; “This was a shocking case where the victim was targeted for his high value watch.
“The investigation relied on witness identification, forensic and intelligence evidence to get a successful charge.
“The two year and three-month prison sentence for both suspects was a great result, and for the victim justice has been served.
