Child seriously injured after collision
He remains in hospital with serious injuries after his bike was hit by a car
Thames Valley Police responded to calls yesterday after a 14-year-old child on a pedal bike was hit by a black Volkswagen Passat.
At approximately 3.40pm yesterday (13 May) the collision occurred on Brunel Road in Maidenhead.
The pedal bike, being ridden by a 14-year-old child, was being ridden on the pavement before entering the road. The car the hit the cyclist, resulting in serious injuries.
The child has been taken to hospital for treatment where they remain at this time.
Senior investigating officer PS Chris Pike, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: “Fortunately, the child was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision; however, he has sustained facial injuries that required hospital treatment.
“We are supporting both parties involved in the collision throughout this traumatic time.
“We are in the early stages of the investigation but seek any further witnesses, or anyone who may have dash-cam or doorbell footage of the incident to please come forward."
