The M4 partially shut in Berkshire this morning (27 April) following a crash involving two lorries.

The motorway has been shut westbound between Junction 13, Chieveley/Newbury, and Junction 14, Hungerford.

One of the vehicles was carrying twenty tones of prosecco, which spread across the carriageway.

Motorists have been advised to seek alternative routes and allow extra time for their journeys due to the extended duration of the closure.

The collision involved significant damage, with one HGV’s trailer detaching from its cab and landing on the nearside barrier.
