Police link two rapes in Reading
They're investigating incidents that occurred six months apart
Police are appealing for information following two rapes in Reading, which officers believe to be linked.
Between 1.30am and 2am on 15 January, the victim, a woman in her forties, was raped by a male in Prospect Mews.
The man is described as black, aged between 20-30 years-old, of slim build, may have an African accent and was wearing a distinctive hooded puffer jacket and white trainers.
The incident has now been linked to another rape in Emmer Green, which occurred between 12.30am and 1am in a residential property on 11 June last year.
Detective Inspector Laura Corscadden, of Reading CID, said:
“I understand that the linking of these two offences will cause significant concern in the community.
“We are conducting a thorough and extensive investigation with significant resources and it is my priority to identify the suspect and safeguard the public.
“You will see an increased police presence patrolling the Oxford Road area.
