The cause of death for a 15-year-old boy who was found dead at an Eton College boarding house earlier this year has yet to be determined, an inquest has been told.

Isaac Edison Albrow Stringer was found dead at the prestigious boarding school’s Godolphin House in Windsor on February 27, the Berkshire Coroner’s Court was told today (Tuesday 7 April 2026).

Heidi Connor, the senior coroner for Berkshire, told the hearing: “The precise cause of death has yet to be determined at this time, and Isaac has been returned to his family for (the) funeral.

“We are in the process of obtaining statements.

“While those investigations are taking place, the proceedings will be adjourned.”

Mrs Connor ended the brief hearing by expressing her “most heartfelt condolences to Isaac’s family at this sad time”.

A pre-inquest hearing will take place at a later date, which has yet to be confirmed.
