Small businesses in Hampshire are urging shoppers to support high streets and local outlets this January.
The Hampshire Federation of Small Businesses has spoken about the difficulties facing businesses in the area due to financial challenges.
Nicola Kildunne, Regional Manager for the Federation of Small Businesses, emphasised the need for ongoing local support outside of the festive period.
“If people aren't going in to spend money, then they're not covering their costs and their costs are high. So, we need to keep spending locally all through the year, not just at Christmas,” Kildunne said.
She underscored that despite current difficulties, small businesses are working hard to adapt.
“Times are hard for small businesses, but small businesses are really resilient. They're adapting all the time, they're innovating all the time and they're being creative. So do support our local businesses and let's keep it all going because it affects all of us,” Kildunne said.
The Hampshire Federation of Small Businesses hopes that continued community action will help businesses to thrive.
