Reading man found guilty of murder

A trial has taken place following the murder of Gerard Coulter.

Following a Thames Valley Police Major Crime investigation, a jury found Brett Mann, aged 49, of Maldon Close, Reading, killed Gerard Coulter after a trial of fact at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday (1 July).

Officers were called by South Central Ambulance Service at 11.37pm on 2 January after Gerard, age 40 was found with serious stab wounds at a property on Maldon Close.

He sadly died at the scene.

Following a Thames Valley Police Major Crime investigation, Mann was charged on 5 January with the murder of Gerard.

On 27 May, Reading Crown Court heard Mann was not fit to plead.

Mann has been detained under a hospital order with restrictions.
