Macron kicks off 'historic' UK state visit
Three-day trip includes royal welcome and high-level talks
French President Emmanuel Macron and Mrs Brigitte Macron arrive in London and Windsor today for their first official state visit to the UK since 2008.
The visit will include a ceremonial carriage procession through Windsor on Tuesday, with The King, Queen, and the Prince and Princess of Wales expected to take part.
Roads in and around Windsor will be closed between 8.45am and 4pm on Tuesday 8 July the official procession.
The visit is being described as a “historic reset” in UK-France relations, with talks expected to focus on defence, Ukraine, and Channel migration, alongside the ceremonial and diplomatic events.
Motorists are advised to avoid Windsor town centre during the closures, with parking suspended on affected routes and increased police presence in place.
