A former Thames Valley Police officer from Berkshire has been sentenced after being convicted of a sex offence in Wallingford.

On 23 October last year, PC Daniel Hunt, aged 32, was charged with one count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

The offence occurred in Wallingford on 14 December 2023.

Hunt was arrested on 25 January last year and was suspended from duty since that date until his resignation in November last year.

He was stationed at Maidenhead Police Station.

At Oxford Magistrates’ Court on 29 November last year, Hunt pleaded guilty to the offence and at Oxford Crown Court today (5/2) he was sentenced to an eight month custodial sentence, suspended for 18 months.

A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was also put in place for seven years.

Although this concludes the criminal case, there is an ongoing misconduct case against former PC Hunt.
