17-year-old pedestrian killed after being hit by a car in Reading

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in the Winnersh area of Reading.

At around 5am yesterday (27/8), there was a collision on the A329(M) involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, a grey Skoda Octavia.

The pedestrian, a 17-year-old boy from Earley, sadly died at the scene.

The boy’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Appeal

Investigating officer inspector Sarah Bartlett from the Roads Policing Unit said: “Firstly, I want to offer my deepest condolences to the family of the boy who sadly died in this collision.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this take place, to please get in touch with us.

“I am also appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to please check their dash-cam footage, in case they captured the collision or the moments leading up to the collision, this includes the movements of the pedestrian close to the A329(M).
