Elderly man killed in fatal crash in Newbury
Police say only one vehicle was involved
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a road traffic collision in Newbury on Tuesday afternoon.
At 12.20pm, officers were called to a single vehicle collision involving a silver BMW in Andover Road near to the junction with Monkswood Close.
The driver of the vehicle, a man aged in his eighties, died of his injuries at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved and nobody else was injured.
Senior investigating officer Sergeant Martin York of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Abingdon, said:
“Tragically as a result of this incident, a man has died of his injuries.
“Our thoughts are with his family, who are being offered support by officers at this difficult time.
“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage of the collision or the moments leading up to it, to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“At this early stage of the investigation, we are not looking for any other vehicles or drivers in relation to this collision.”
