The family of a cyclist who died after a collision in Woodley have released a tribute to him.

49-year-old father-of-two James Sullivan was injured when a grey Hyundai i20 collided with his bike on the Shepherds Hill Roundabout on 29 August.

He later died in hospital.

A 24-year-old man from Slough was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and was bailed by police.

In a statement released by his family, they said: "James was a strong healthy man, a husband; father; son; brother and friend - was only 49 and had so much more to offer the world.

"He did not die as a result of a life limiting disease, nor did his body grow too old to continue, he simply went out on his new road bike one Friday afternoon and never came home.

"James’ dry sense of humour defined him. He made everyone laugh even when laughter (or his joke) seemed inappropriate. He wanted everyone to be happy - he knew himself what it was to be sad.

"He was an extremely proud father and uncle. James was fiercely protective of his wife, two daughters, brothers; sisters; nephews; nieces and many friends.

"We all miss him terribly."
