A man has been jailed for drugs offences in Reading.

Jermaine Hermans, aged 33, of Beresford Road, Reading, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison following a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Thursday 12 March.

Hermans pleaded guilty to one count of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug, namely cocaine, and one count of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug, namely cannabis, on 11 November last year at the same court.

In addition to the custodial sentence, the court ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs and mobile phones recovered, along with the forfeiture of cash.

On 15 April 2025, officers stopped a white Vauxhall Mokka on Wantage Road in Reading. Three occupants were detained for a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A quantity of suspected class A and class B drugs, cash, and several mobile phones, including one identified as a drugs line phone, were recovered.

Following further enquiries, Jermaine Hermans was arrested on 13 August last year and was charged the following day.

Robust

Investigating officer PC Liam Steele, part of Reading’s Proactive Team, said: “Drug dealing brings harm and exploitation to our communities, and we will continue to take robust action against those involved.

“This outcome reflects the hard work of our officers in disrupting the supply of harmful substances in Reading.”
