Andover man charged with knife offence

A man from Andover has been charged with the possession of a knife in a public place.

That's after police received reports of a man having two knives on him near Whiteley Way Pond in Curbridge.

Patryk Strzelecki, who's 27-years-old, is set to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court today (11th August).

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "Police were called shortly before 8pm on Friday 8th August to reports of a man in possession of two knives near Whiteley Way Pond.

"The man was not reported to have made any threats towards members of the public in the area.

"Officers attended and made an arrest at the scene."
