Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway of the A321 Marshall Road, near the junction with Laundry Lane, at around 12.15pm on Sunday, May 24.

According to Thames Valley Police, a white Ford KA was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his eighties, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The road was closed while emergency services responded to the incident and carried out investigations at the scene. It has since reopened.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are now working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Investigating officer PC Greg Jones said enquiries remain ongoing and urged anyone who saw the incident, or the moments leading up to it, to contact police.

He also appealed to motorists who were travelling in the area at the time to check any dashcam footage they may have recorded, as it could provide valuable information to assist the investigation.

PC Jones thanked road users for their patience while the road closure was in place and emergency services carried out their work.
