A new Youth Employment Hub has opened in Bracknell Forest, providing crucial support to young people aged 18 to 24 who are claiming Universal Credit.

The hub is focused on assisting them in gaining employment, finding training opportunities, or determining their future steps.

It's services include one-to-one advice from experienced employment coaches, help with job searches and applications, CV and interview guidance, access to training and skills development, and support in identifying suitable career paths.

Bracknell Forest councillors, DWP representatives, and community partners such as The Lexicon and local MP were at the opening.

Cllr Paul Bidwell, Bracknell Forest's cabinet member for economy, regeneration, and finance, emphasised the importance of partnerships in building opportunities.

“Yesterday’s launch showcased the strength of partnership in Bracknell Forest. Together, we are building opportunities that will help young people in our community. The Youth Employment Hub is a vital resource.

It reflects our commitment to giving every young person the chance to succeed, no matter their starting point.

By working closely with local employers and community organisations, we’re creating pathways that can genuinely change lives and strengthen Bracknell Forest’s future workforce,” Cllr Bidwell said.

Shawn Frost, service leader at DWP, underlined the hub’s role in fostering confidence and opportunities.

“Bracknell Youth Employment Hub will give young people the support, confidence, and opportunities they need to move forward.

By bringing employers, partners, and our work coaches under one roof, we’re creating a space where every young person can see a future for themselves,” Shawn Frost said.

Young people can learn more by visiting the Youth Employment Hub web page.

The hub is inviting more organisations to participate in the initiative, offering opportunities such as employability skills training, industry talks, site visits, work experience placements, job openings, and mentoring.
