A public meeting will be held tonight for residents affected by last week’s fire at the Daler-Rowney site, with authorities set to provide updates and answer questions.

The drop-in meeting, taking place tonight (Wednesday 3 June) from 6.15pm to 7.30pm at Jennett’s Park Community Centre, is aimed at people living in Jennett’s Park, Peacock Lane and Wykery Copse who were impacted by the incident and its aftermath.

Residents will have the opportunity to raise concerns, seek clarification on the response to the fire, and hear directly from key agencies involved.

Council leader Helen Purnell said: “If any resident who was in the vicinity of the fire at Daler Rowney has been affected or has any concerns regarding anything, then please do drop in between 6.15 and 7.30 to speak to fire, environment agency and council officers.”

The session is being hosted by ward councillors Georgia Pickering, Stephen O’Regan and Jeff Gillbe, who are encouraging residents to attend and take part in discussions.

The fire, which broke out at the Daler-Rowney facility last week, prompted a significant emergency response and raised concerns among nearby households about air quality, safety and disruption.

Local leaders say the meeting will provide a forum for residents to receive the latest information and ensure their voices are heard as recovery efforts continue.

Anyone living in the affected areas is invited to attend or share details of the meeting with neighbours who may wish to be involved.
