Bracknell man jailed after £56,000 of cocaine found hidden in fridge
More than 746g of cocaine was seized after a company found drugs while removing an appliance
A man from Bracknell has been jailed after police recovered more than £56,000 worth of cocaine, some of it hidden inside a fridge.
Theodoros Sellas, 33, of Uffington Drive, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Friday 11th September to three years and four months in prison.
He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, namely cocaine, possession of a Class B drug, namely cannabis, and possession of an offensive weapon.
How the drugs were found
Thames Valley Police said that on 28th June this year, they received a report from a company that had removed a fridge from a property and discovered suspected drugs inside.
When officers attended, they recovered around 140g of cocaine from the appliance.
Officers then went to the address the fridge had been collected from and arrested Sellas.
A search uncovered a further 606g of cocaine, some of which had been packaged and prepared for sale.
In total, officers seized more than 746g of cocaine, with an estimated street value of more than £56,000.
Police also recovered a quantity of cannabis and a knuckle duster, which is a prohibited offensive weapon.
Sellas was charged on 29th June.
Police reaction
Investigating officer PC Amy Knowles said: "This was a substantial quantity of cocaine that was clearly intended for onward supply.
"Thanks to swift investigative work, officers were able to recover more than 746g of cocaine before it reached the streets, preventing significant harm to our communities.
"The recovery of a knuckle duster alongside the drugs demonstrates the links between drug crime and wider offending.
"This sentence sends a clear message that Thames Valley Police will take robust action against those involved in the supply of illegal drugs and bring offenders before the courts."
