Berkshire man arrested over Computer Misuse Act offences
SEROCU operation leads to arrest in Langley
Officers from the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) have arrested a 42-year-old man from Langley, Berkshire, in connection with multiple Computer Misuse Act offences.
The arrest took place on Friday, 24th July, and was part of an operation led by SEROCU, with support from Thames Valley Police.
The man is accused of unauthorised access to computer material, gaining access to computer material to commit a further offence, and making, supplying or obtaining articles for use in a Computer Misuse Act offence.
A warrant was executed at a residential property where search activities led to the seizure of several digital devices for forensic examination.
The investigation centres around allegations of using computer software to bypass security controls, which allowed access to subscription television service content.
The suspect has been released on bail until 12th October.
