Police are now able to confirm there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a woman, at a property on Queen Mary Avenue, Basingstoke.

Officers were called at 8.01pm on Tuesday (24 June) by ambulance colleagues, after the death of a 32-year-old woman.

The death was treated as unexpected and an investigation began.

As part of initial enquiries, a 49-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested, on suspicion of murder and later taken to hospital for a pre-exiting medical condition.

Yesterday (Thursday 26 June), a post-mortem examination took place and police can now confirm that her death is not being treated as suspicious.

The arrested man has been told that he will face no further action.

A file will now be prepared for the coroner in relation to the woman’s death.

Officers say they ensured that the highest standard of evidence gathering was undertaken in order to establish the cause of the woman’s death and kept an open mind throughout their enquiries.
