Basingstoke Pride to go ahead
It'll be third year for summer event
Basingstoke Pride is to return this summer for its third year, on Friday 22nd August.
Building on the success of its first two events, this year’s Pride will once again combine a town centre parade with a free, family-friendly festival featuring live music, entertainment and a wide range of stalls.
The day begins at 11am with the annual Pride parade, starting at the intersection of Church Street and Cross Street, before making its way through the town to the Amphitheatre next to the Vue cinema and The Angel.
From midday, the main Pride event will get underway, creating a welcoming space for people of all ages to come together, celebrate and connect.
Organisers say the focus remains firmly on accessibility and inclusivity, with the event continuing to be free to attend, ensuring as many people as possible can take part.
A spokesperson for South Western Railway added: “As the home of our operating centre, Basingstoke is the heart of our network.
“We are proud to sponsor Basingstoke Pride and, alongside Network Rail Wessex, support all our LGBT+ customers and colleagues, both locally and across our region.
“Everyone deserves to live, work and travel safely and with confidence, and we hope all those celebrating have a fantastic day.”
